The No-Resolution Resolution
On the night of New Year’s Eve the sky is a garden of colorful carnations bursting all at once. People are cheering, making phone calls, and sharing a New Year’s Kiss. Underneath the celebration there is a, solemn for some, tone of reflection. A mass realization of our mortality and what should be done in the meantime. Some people are mourning for ambitions unmet. I rather not count how many times this holiday has been a dark one for me, spent attaching my self-worth to meeting lofty objectives.
Instead of thinking about all the things you want to change, try thinking about some things that are great staying just the way they are.
